There is no official RAM number
GTA VI has no announced PC version or specification sheet. Claims that it requires 16 GB or 32 GB are estimates, even when the rest of the list looks plausible.
Memory is also one part of the system. A weak CPU or GPU will not be rescued by installing more RAM.

How 16 GB and 32 GB fit a new build
Sixteen gigabytes remains usable for many current games, especially on a clean system with few background applications. A matched dual-channel setup usually gives the CPU more bandwidth than one stick.
Thirty-two gigabytes is the more comfortable target for a new midrange or high-end build. It leaves room for a browser, capture tools, voice chat and games that already push beyond 16 GB. That is general buying advice, not a Rockstar requirement.

Check the memory you already own
Look at total capacity, module count, speed and free slots. Moving from one 16 GB stick to a matched pair may help more than the capacity figure suggests.
If the machine already has 32 GB, RAM is unlikely to be the first speculative upgrade worth making. Check the CPU, GPU and SSD in the PC readiness checker instead.

Will 8 GB RAM run GTA 6?
Nobody can verify that before PC requirements exist. Eight gigabytes is already restrictive for many modern games and background tasks.
