01
No “GTA 6 ready” laptop exists yet
Retailers can call a laptop GTA VI ready, but Rockstar has supplied no PC specification against which to test that claim. A recent gaming laptop may be a strong candidate. It is not certified.
A laptop and desktop GPU can share a product number while running at different power limits. Cooling also changes sustained performance, so the badge on the palm rest tells only part of the story.
02
Five details matter more than the marketing name
Check the exact mobile GPU and its power limit, the CPU model, dual-channel memory, SSD capacity and independent thermal testing. Find out whether RAM and storage can be replaced. Soldered parts turn a small buying mistake into a permanent one.
Integrated graphics and thin office laptops are weak bets for a demanding future Rockstar game. A gaming chassis with a discrete GPU has a better starting point, though the answer still depends on unpublished software.
03
Buying now versus waiting
Wait if GTA VI is the purchase’s only purpose. By the time a PC port and requirements exist, today’s laptop may be older, cheaper or replaced.
If you need a machine now, judge it against games you play. Use the PC readiness checker as a planning aid and read the requirements status before trusting a seller guarantee.

Frequently asked questions
Can an RTX 4060 laptop run GTA 6?
There is no verified answer. RTX 4060 laptops also vary in power and cooling, so the GPU name alone is not enough.
How much RAM should a GTA 6 laptop have?
Rockstar has not said. For a new gaming laptop, 16 GB is a practical baseline and 32 GB gives more headroom.
Can I upgrade a gaming laptop later?
RAM and SSD upgrades are common on some models. The CPU and GPU are usually fixed, so check the service manual before buying.
