Is an SSD confirmed for GTA 6?

An SSD requirement for GTA VI on PC has not been announced. Rockstar has not confirmed a PC edition at all, so no storage type or capacity is official.

Why an SSD is a strong expectation

Modern open-world games increasingly benefit from SSD throughput, and GTA V Enhanced now lists an SSD on PC. That makes an SSD a sensible general upgrade, especially for a new system, but it does not prove what GTA VI will require.

Do you need NVMe?

GTAFinder does not convert sensible purchasing advice into a fake minimum specification. The checker marks HDD storage as higher upgrade pressure and NVMe as a stronger planning baseline while keeping the official status unknown.

Buying storage before the PC announcement

The next decisive evidence would be an official PC platform announcement, followed by a Rockstar storefront page and minimum and recommended specifications. Until those appear, exact performance, storage and component claims remain estimates.

Frequently asked questions

Will GTA 6 require an SSD?

Rockstar has not published a PC storage requirement. An SSD is a strong expectation because the console versions target solid-state hardware and GTA V Enhanced already requires one on PC.

Will GTA 6 need an NVMe SSD?

No specific drive interface has been confirmed.

Can GTA 6 run from a hard drive?

There is no tested PC version. Buying a new gaming machine with only a hard drive would still be a poor bet.
